Finally…A Performance Saddle Pad That Makes it Possible for Both the Horse and Rider to be Comfortable at the Same Time.

What is ThinLine Technology?

Historically, equine products work on a compression basis, meaning they compress then spring back or, like gel, move away from pressure. What makes ThinLine unique is its technology.ThinLine is an open-cell foam which moves shock, weight, and heat laterally along the pad, boot, or girth. Beginning as a liquid, microscopic cells are poured into a mold then polarized so each cell lies end to end creating a tunnel. Another layer is poured in the mold and polarized in a new direction. In each ThinLine pad, this process is repeated hundreds of times creating a honey comb matrix. This structure allows ThinLine to move shock, heat, and weight laterally, much like the ripple effect of throwing a stone into water. ThinLine products also carry tensile strength so that pressure is actually distributed. Behind every pressure point there is always a hollow point. ThinLine products work to relieve pressure points by adding to the hollow points.

ThinLine’s texture and suppleness allows the product to mold for a custom fit. When warmed to body temperature by work and exercise, ThinLine products will mold to the horses back, leg or girth area. When returned to room temperature, ThinLine returns to its original shape, allowing ThinLine products to mold every day and to every horse. The life span of this process is typically 7-10 years. All ThinLine products are also infused with active USDA approved anti-fungal and anti-microbial agents rated to last 7-9 years. In addition to its unique method of distributing shock, ThinLine differs from traditional products. Compared to neoprene, ThinLine will not generate heat and has never caused a skin reaction in horses. Unlike gel, ThinLine is lightweight, breathable, and will not move away from pressure points. ThinLine is easier to clean and care for than leather and its antifungal agents keep horses’ skin healthy.

Product Features
High Shock Absorption
ThinLine technology makes it one of the best shock absorptive materials on the market, delivering 95% shock absorption. This keeps horse and rider comfortable and encourages your horse to move up through his back, working his muscles more efficiently.
100% Air Flow
ThinLine pads are 100% breathable, which means heat isn't trapped underneath the saddle, decreasing sweat and keeping your horse's back muscles cooler and more comfortable.
Eliminates Pressure Points
Since ThinLine doesn't compress or move away from pressure (like gel), but moves shock laterally, pressure points created by movement or position changes in the saddle are actually eliminated.
NoSlip/Cling Technology
ThinLine products keep the saddle in place, eliminating front to back and left to rightsaddle slippage.
Custom Fit
When warmed by a bit of riding, ThinLine Pads mold to the saddle and conform to your horse's back, creating custom fit and comfort for each horse. Because ThinLine does not compress, the pad will go back to its original shape immediately so it can be used on multiple horses per day.
Anti-Microbial
Each ThinLine product is infused with an active anti-microbial agent, allowing the pads to be used on multiple horses per day without the worry of spreading fungal diseases such as rain rot.
Improves Saddle Fit
Although ThinLine is designed to aid saddles that fit properly, some wide gullet saddle fit issues can be helped using our ThinLine product.
Durability
Pads will never compress and are virtually indestructible. Hose off or machine wash to clean. Many ThinLine owners have been using the same pad for over 10 years! Please store above freezing.
Types of Pads

All ThinLine Pads come in a variety of shapes and cuts and have the same features listed above, but come in two thicknesses with their own recommendations for use, which are as follows:

ThinLine and Ultra ThinLine compareson photoUltra ThinLine
This pad is 3/16" thick and is the top choice of professional riders because it helps to minimize lower back movement and stabilizes rider position, making it easier to sit and ride the gaits while giving an ultimate close contact feel. Ultra ThinLine pads are available in black and white with a variety of trim color options.
ThinLine
This pad is 1/4" thick and is designed with the horse in mind. Because it is thicker than the Ultra, shock is moved a further distance, providing more comfort for the horse. This pad is recommended for horses in high impact situations, such as jumping, reining, or barrel racing, horses with back soreness or similar issues, young horses, beginning riders, and horses spending long hours under saddle, such as endurance, trail, or working horses. ThinLine pads are only available in black and are untrimmed.

Girths
Beautiful European manufactured leather girths lined with our fashionable grey ThinLine for long girths, black for short girths.. The breathable, anti-microbial, and no-slip/no-rub ThinLine lining makes this the best girth to keep your horse comfortable and your saddle in place. Plus it's easy to clean and very durable!

Boots
Say good-bye to neoprene! ThinLine Horse Boots offer freedom from dirt and irritation because the lining is breathable so it vents heat from the tendons to keep them cooler, and doesn’t trap and imbed dirt like neoprene, providing superior comfort and protection for your horse. The anti-microbial feature in our boots protects your horse’s skin and allows for use on multiple horses. ThinLine boots are very durable, strong enough for everyday schooling and show and are the easiest boots to clean, just sponge or hose off in a matter of seconds.

ThinLine Riders

ThinLine Pads are the only saddle pads recommendedby spinal surgeons (See The Rider’s Pain-Free Back by Dr. James Warson, Trafalglar Square Publishing) for healthy riders. ThinLine also comes highly recommended for horses. ThinLine products are used by F.E.I veterinarians, equine chiropractors, and equine massage therapists including massage therapists for the US Olympic team.

Geoff Teall, co-founder of the American Hunter-Jumper Foundation, Inc. and author of Riding Hunter, Jumpers, and Equitation, has ridden on ThinLine Pads for over a decade. Top riders such as Beezie Madden, Steffen Peters, Kent Farrington, and Richard Spooner use ThinLine products to enhance their performance.
