Choose English or Western styles, riser or swayback/bridge options. Skito Equalizer foam absorbs up to 90% of the impact of the horse's back, won't bottom out under weight, and breathes well to keep your horse cool and comfortable! All styles are meant to fit neatly under your saddle, over another blanket/pad. For western styles, measure the total length of your saddle skirts and choose the next largest size. Custom lengths, styles, and shims are available!
This pad has a velcro opening along the spine, giving you access to the base foam and shims. The cover is machine washable (air dry). The foam can be rinsed if your horse sweats through the pad on a regular basis. Shims can be removed, repositioned, or swapped out should your horse change shape, or if you use the same pad on multiple horses. Additional shims and base foam panels can be ordered now or in the future.
This pad includes the base foam and one set of the shim options. At checkout, please specify if you would like the shims to be removable or affixed permanently to the base foam.
Base foam: Choose between 1/2" or 3/4" base foam. This is the flat piece of foam which the shim options will be added to. 1/2" is recommended for English saddles. 3/4" is recommended for Western saddles or horses with prominent spines (spine sicks up above the back).
Lift Front or Back option is used to raise the front or back of your saddle. The shims are tapered, to give a smooth transition and more comfort for your horse. Choose 1/2" for a subtle lift, 3/4" for a more pronounced lift.
Full Rear or Front lift shims are used to raise either the front or rear 2/3rds of the saddle. These shims are used when a more pronounced lift is needed, or when a regular lift may cause the saddle to bridge in the center. Choose 1/2" for a subtle lift, 3/4" for a more pronounced lift.
Center shims are for horses with a sway back or for saddles that bridge. They are tapered at the front and back to give an easy transition. These shims will create a flatter surface for your saddle to sit on, eliminating the problem of bridging. Choose 1/2" for a slight sway or bridge problem, 3/4" to correct a more pronounced sway or bridge.
Shoulder bridge shims are used for horses that have high withers and a "hollow" spot behind the shoulders. The shims are placed to fill in that area to correct saddle fit and reduce pressure from the saddle. Choose the Long Shoulder Bridge if your horse has a lack of muscle that continues along the spine. Choose 1/2" shims for just a bit of help, 3/4" for horses with pronounced hollows.

Each pad is CUSTOM MADE TO ORDER! Please allow 2-5 weeks for production and delivery. Delivery times will take longer (4-5 weeks) during late Spring through Fall. Delivery times are shortest during the Winter and early Spring months. Tracking information will be emailed to you when you pad has been shipped. Please email customer service if you need a pad right away. Rush orders may be accommodated or some pads may be in stock.
